Upcoming Guest Chef Weekends
While guests traditionally enjoy cooking their own meals in Wilbur's
professionally equipped, spacious kitchen year 'round, Wilbur also periodically
offers several Guest Chef Weekends. Using local
organic produce, dairy, and fish or poultry, our accomplished guest chefs prepare
inspiring, delicious, and healthy meals for Friday dinner through Sunday brunch.

Cascio
Marion comes from a family of cooks
and has been involved with restaurants since childhood.
She studied classical culinary arts in Germany for
five years and has cooked in many famous restaurants
and spas. Marion was a staff cook at Esalen for five
years where she learned ethnic cooking techniques
and fell in love with cooking from the garden.

Guest Chef Weekend with Charlie Cascio - October 15-17, 2010

Cascio
Charlie has cooked throughout Europe, including Germany, France, Belgium, and Spain. He has worked as a personal private chef and has been head chef for numerous restaurants. Charlie has taught natural food cooking seminars to individuals, restaurants, and health professionals throughout Europe and the United States. He continues to cook for large conventions to develop natural health food products and recipes, and to teach courses on cooking, including cooking with raw foods.
Charlie worked as the head chef and kitchen manager for the Esalen Institute, in Big Sur, California from 1998 through 2004 and continues to work for Esalen as a consultant and instructor. He lives on the Northern California Coast on a self-sustaining organic farm where he raises his own vegetables, chickens, goats, and honeybees and makes his own cheeses and olive oil.

Please join us for a weekend of breath, chanting, asana and soaking in the healing mineral waters of Wilbur. Come strengthen your practice while relaxing and rejuvenating your body and mind. We'll step back from our daily routines and retreat to this sacred land, home to healing waters that have been used for renewal for centuries.
Students will practice yoga on Wilbur's beautiful yoga deck, cradled in nature with the sounds the Wilbur creek. We will begin each day with chanting and pranayama, followed by breakfast and then an active morning session. In the afternoon there will be time for bathing, hiking, massage and personal time. We will gather in the late afternoon for a restorative session followed by a delicious dinner.

Writing Workshop November 5-7, 2010 With Clive
Matson

Join us for a writing workshop with Clive Matson entitled "Writing
and Spiritual Awakening." Matson, author, poet, story writer,
essayist, and playwright, has led more than 3,000 workshops nationwide.
Originally from an avocado farm in Southern California, Matson traveled
to New York City to join the Beats. His writing received recognition
after 9/11, earning the 2003 PEN Oakland Josephine Miles National Literary
Award.

The writing retreat will have an introductory workshop the first evening
at 8 pm, a main workshop the next day beginning at 11 am, a participants'
