What to Bring
General Items
Clothing is optional in the pool, sauna and flumes, so be sure to bring
a robe and slippers, flip-flops or slip-on shoes.
Please bring your own towels.
It's always a good idea to bring warm clothing for winter or cool summer
evenings.
It gets really dark up here in the evenings, so be sure to bring a flashlight.
We have two bikes for our guests to use, so to guarantee that you'll
always have a bike available, feel free to bring your own.
Other items you may wish to bring could be books, writing materials, non-electric musical instruments and of course... a sense of humor!
Kitchen
Wilbur guests cook their own meals in our commercially-equipped communal
kitchen. Please bring all the groceries you need including liquids,
oil, vinegar, honey, sugar, garlic, etc. We provide dry spices, cookware,
utensils and dishes. One of the benefits at Wilbur Hot Springs is our
special drinking water. It comes from our filtered spring reserves
and is rich in minerals. Bottled H2O is also sold in our Country Store.
Bunk Room Guests
Please bring your own top bedding. We provide bottom sheets and pillows
with cases. If you're a weekend or holiday Bunk Room guest -- please
bring a cooler to place in the kitchen.
Electronic Devices
In keeping with our positive and proactive approach to conservation and
with an awareness of our stewardship of the environment, Wilbur's energy
is provided by solar power. We take pride in the measures we take to
keep power consumption low. We use automatic motion sensor light switches
in the bathrooms and compact fluorescent lighting throughout the hotel.
We appreciate your mindful cooperation by turning off lights when you
leave your room and leaving high power consumption items (such as hair
dryers) at home. You may, of course, use laptop computers, portable stereos
with headphones and other internally powered convenience devices. Commonly
used batteries are sold in the Wilbur Country Store.
Wilbur has been deliberately designated cellphone-free. Our
guests are encouraged to use our telephone booth (collect or credit card)
located near the hotel building.
